Who we are

Enjoyment and discovery is at the heart of everything we do but our work is about more than just green slime and fun explosions!

It’s no secret that the UK is in need of more scientists and engineers.

Claire Willis set up Fusion in response to this national challenge after identifying an opportunity to use her creative flair to improve the communication of science subjects.

She is passionate about giving young people the opportunity to have fun with STEM. She thinks this is key to raising aspirations and opening their minds to the endless career possibilities an education in STEM can offer.

The spark behind Fusion also came from Claire’s desire to put to good use her extensive sector experience and strong links to industry, education and delivery partners.

Claire leads the Fusion team from our base at Science Central in Newcastle, a new landmark development for science in the city.

We’re proud to provide our future scientists with some great role models and work particularly hard to encourage young girls into STEM subjects.
